A drawknife (cartoon knife, draw shave, shaving knife)^[1] is a traditional woodworking mitt tool used to shape wood past removing shavings. It consists of a blade with a handle at each end. The blade is much longer (forth the cutting edge) than information technology is deep (from cutting edge to back edge). Information technology is pulled or "drawn" (hence the proper noun) toward the user.

The thin blade lends itself to create complex concave or convex curves.

Operation [edit]

Straight cuts [edit]
